Local Dairymen See Milk Price Rise to 1.52 per Gallon
Dairy producers in the region received word that the August return from the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association will rise 23 cents over July to 1.52 per gallon, including a seven cent certificate of indebtedness and a ten cent volume premium. The July price was 1.29, marking a 28 cent increase. The higher price supports dairies after years of lean returns as market conditions stabilize and dairy prospects brighten amid drought and improving fall crops.
