Turnpike Repairs Nearing Completion
An extensive program to replace the concrete surface along sections of the 190 mile Pennsylvania Turnpike nears completion. Edward N. Jones of the Turnpike Commission says the job should finish this year if no new difficulties arise, with costs around $600,000. The work, begun two years ago, targets drainage related subsoil issues by replacing long concrete slabs between Irwin near Pittsburgh and Middlesex near Harrisburg.
