Odt Suggests Cut in Exporting of Coal
The Office Of Defense Transportation proposed a 30 day reduction in coal exports from New York Philadelphia and Baltimore to build up stockpiles in the northeast. The plan aims to ease coal shortages by slowing exports to allow more deliveries to steel mills and other large users. A ban on northeast exports was considered but a breather period was chosen. Also a note on hummingbirds: reputed to beat wings about 100 times per minute.
