The Warren National Bank advertises a four percent rate highlighting convenient handling of money, safe tax aspects, and complete facilities for business and savings accounts. It emphasizes banking by mail as a specialty and promises up to date advantages for depositors.
A cloudburst across Western Pennsylvania caused deaths and extensive ruin. In Tyrone a Leeds building was swept away. Mrs Rebecca J Hinkla, 59, perished. Tobn Scudder drowned while trying to save stock. A lightning strike near Belmont injured George Young and halted sheltering. Reports describe unrooted houses, wrecked barns, and ruined crops across the region.
Ambassador Wilson urged Mexico to dispatch troops to Torreon to preserve order amid unrest. He cited regional instability and requested timely mobilization to restore security and protect civilians.
Washington announces that about 1000 Mexican troops have been sent to Torreon at Secretary Knox’s request to preserve order amid the upcoming national holiday on Sept 16. The move followed reports of potential disorders and foreign departures from the city. Food riots extend from Roubaix to Paris with two market disturbances and shops ransacked. Prefect Lene led police to disperse the mob. Housewives tallied prices and pressed dealers to sell at their figures.
Boston aviator Thomas J. Towle, en route to York Pa for exhibition fights, was struck blind at Broad Street station. He was taken to Rahnemann hospital where doctors said sight unlikely to return. Towle, who kept a monoplane in East Boston, faced guidance duties home as he sought expert ocular advice.
