In Warren and Torpedo works, about 35 men and ten more are engaged in building a plant to produce silica sand and stock for operation. J H Leighton of Rochester, company president, has spent days in Torpedo overseeing business. Capital is largely from Rochester, with plans for a rail link to Torpedo Foss Uti and Tidtowte Hao. A runaway incident at Warren left Jim Mater injured, with a wagon dragged and the horse team breaking loose as workers watched.

Threshing Fatality Narrows Within Pennsylvania Farm Incident
A boiler explosion at a farm near Trouville Pennsylvania on September 6 injured four men and caused a barn blaze. W G Frais was uninjured but others including Warren Fraig 16 and George Gull 22 suffered severe burns. The fire destroyed the barn and left surrounding woodland aflame. Estimated crop loss ran to about 4000 dollars as rain later helped extinguish the flames.

Probing Death of Charley Hickman in Beaver Jail
In Haver Pa on September 6 the Grand Jury will hear District Attorney J Maine McCaun ask the court to order an investigation into the death of Charley Hickman, wife murderer, who died in his Beaver County Jail cell July 18 two hours before his scheduled execution. The coroner's jury cited Dolwen as cause but failed to resolve if suicide or foul play occurred. Doctors said he received small doses of atropine to stimulate the heart, yet the death could not be explained by ordinary causes. Autopsy organs showed traces of strychnine.
