An anonymous donor provides Corry Memorial Hospital with a cardiac monitor and defibrillator to aid treatment for heart attacks and acute heart conditions. Donald Hout of Grayco Instruments in Buffalo demonstrated device use for nurses and staff.
The Corry Afternoon Bridge Club held a three and one half table Howell session at Corry Country Club. Winners included Mrs. William Master Jr and Mrs. Lloyd Stowe tied with Mrs. Robert Davidson and Mrs. Richard Muckinhaupt with 29 points, and Mrs. James Cole and Mrs. Samuel Greiner tied with Mrs. Olaf Oman and Mrs. Edward S. Thompson at 25. A regular game is set for next Tuesday at 1 pm at the YMCA, starting the season’s weekly events inviting all local and area players to participate.
Sheryl A. Fardink and James W. Kolstee were married at North Clymer United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronald Sellers officiating. The couple planned a belated church reception and will reside in Frewsburg New York.
The Lovelace Marionettes of Pittsburgh present a 3 p.m. puppet show in the Wright School auditorium. The event, titled Puss in Boots, is sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania State Convention participants and Coronation Night details were shared at a Moose Women meeting.
Little Jeffery Leroy Middleton observed his first birthday at a family party hosted by his parents Mr and Mrs Donald Cheryl Middleton at 332 West Washington. The dinner featured a decorated cake and several gifts. Attending were his parents and his siblings Timothy seven and Christine four.
The Mary Circle of the First United Methodist Church met at Mrs. Webb McCray's home. Mrs. Charles Correll led devotions on The Laws of Happiness. President Mrs. Dan Wood urged involvement in a family fun night on September 14 at the church. The Erie Meadville district meeting at Corry Church runs 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with luncheon reservations due Friday. September United Methodist Women meeting will be a tureen dinner Monday evening at the church. Debbie Meerdink spoke on the Appalachia Service Project in Kentucky. Dessert was served by the hostess and Mrs. Oscar Johnson.
The Corry YMCA Newcomers Club meets Monday at 8 PM at the Y with Frank Grice of the Corry Area Historical Society as guest speaker. New Topettes signups begin Saturday 1 to 2 PM at the Columbus Community Bus. The Corry Area Council for Exceptional Children meets Monday at 7 PM at the Salvation Army Citadel to plan activities for the year. A wiener roast for Corry-Ettes is set for tomorrow at Sargent's camp after the Spartansburg parade. Mrs. Ross Jukes will host the Corry Navy Mothers Club No. 696 Monday at 8 PM with a Chinese auction.
Katherine Jean Ploss and Addison M. Reeder II plan to wed November 29 1974 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Corry. Reeder stationed at Fort Dix NJ serves in the US Army. Ploss a 1973 Corry Area High School graduate works for Corry Jamestown Corporation.
Xi Beta Phi Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority met at the home of Mrs. Samuel Beverly Smith in Columbus. President Mrs. Thomas Ann Pierotti led the business session, reports from chairs were given, and new program booklets were distributed.
