Greensburg Pa September 6 T Couch cashier of the First National Bank of Avonmore identified Joe Plezarski of New Kensington as one of two men who robbed the Avonmore bank on May 21. They threatened employees with a sawed off shotgun and fled with 9700 in paper money. Plezarski was later arrested and brought to trial. Another alleged bandit, Warren Cert alias Joe Cert, has not been apprehended.

Five Slain as Union Pickets Clash in Honey Path
In Honey Path South Carolina a clash at the Chiognola Manufacturing Company mill gate left five union strike pickets dead and more than a dozen wounded as workers attempted to resist the walkout. About 600 pickets clashed with the mill’s non striking workforce, then the mill shut down. Local authorities sought military aid and about 2 000 men were deputized to help keep order.
