Man Thrown Into Path Of Car Dies From Injuries

A man was struck by a car and trampled by a cow during the Florida hurricane era, dying later from injuries. The report notes a grim toll feared to reach 1,000 as storm damage widens. Authorities wrestle with delayed storm sewer cost estimates and city plans, amid talks of a possible special meeting to secure Public Works funds before a September deadline. The proposed open sewer would run 1,900 feet west from Hare Créefe to near the old switch by the Weisser tannery, with a westward extension along the Erie Railroad rights of way to Maple avenue and beyond through Mill, South, Pleasant, and Spring streets to the intake. The project hinges on complete cost breakdowns and funding, currently incomplete.
