Third air raid over England reported with casualties

United Press reports the third Luftwaffe raid since Sunday on England killed nine people and left at least forty nine injured in the London district. Lord French said most planes were shot down by British anti aircraft guns, one plane believed downed on its return to a German base in Belgium.

Pocket Picking Route Leads to Lost Postal Certificates

A Waterford resident, C. B. Cole, reported the theft of $500 in postal certificates and about $18 to $20 in cash. An attempted mail-box theft occurred Thursday evening in the business district during a local post office collection.
