The Kiwanis Club held a pleasant gathering today with members and guests attending at the M. 1 Church. Ron BM noted a brief report on the group’s activities while singing featured led by Me Geyabi and Mw Cai presented a program for the crowd.
All members are urged to attend the Knights of Columbus meeting in the church hall at 8 o clock. The election of new officers will be featured and a large attendance is requested.
Washington dispatch notes a partisan scramble as Democrats push for Senate gains and Republicans defend their majority. Party leaders forecast openings in Colorado, Rhode Island, West Virginia, New Jersey, and others, with Swanson heading to military duty soon.
Corry readers are urged to register for the Pennsylvania presidential election. Registration hours extend through 10 PM tonight and continue on upcoming dates Tuesday September 8 and Saturday October 4. The notice lists cities and registration offices for voters to participate.
Harrisburg September 4 under the Labor Party emblem the La Pullone Wheeler ticket is set for the November ballot. Charles Kitt of the Progressive Veilical Action in Pennsylvania filed the slate with the state. The ticket lists eight congressional candidates, five Democrats and three others, including Meredith Meyers, Charles M. Driggs, Dawid Fowler, Elizabeth Ro Culberton, P. A. Gowan, and Herbert W. Currimings among others.
Malcolm R McAdoo brother of William Gibbs McAdoo joins La Follette Wheeler forces denying he hosted Democrats due to his brother's defeat at the convention. He becomes treasurer of New York state organization backing third party moves. He denies being radical. Jane OBrien heads to Erie for a few days. Frank Gauteher and another visit Dunkirk due to Mr Gauteher's father death.
Boston readies for a large welcome as Globe fliers finish repairs and prepare for the next leg of their transcontinental route. The team, arriving via Norfolk and bound for Santa Monica, will stop to meet officials and the public in the harbor area before resuming to New York.

A Corry man was arrested in Akron on a charge related to aiding a woman named Ross sought by authorities. Detectives tracked Ross’s location via a newspaper clipping, and the suspect was taken into custody last night. Ross had fled from Corry, leaving a wife and several children.
A girl tied to the theft of ten dollars from the Star Garage register led to a police inquiry. She confessed briefly to the jury but later gave a different story and was placed under parole, with her parents agreeing to a surety bond.
A pyromaniac captured today confessed to setting four fires during the past night and turned in his weapon. Fifty policemen were on the case after the first alarm was raised. The suspect then led officers to the site where the fires occurred as dawn approached.
