Hoyt Robbin, 32, of 34 Emerpon Place, had a close call when a furious crowd armed with clubs dragged at him as a streetcar struck a 2 year old boy on Main near Scott. The wheel fender tore his coat, a conductor kept the door, and police arrived to quell the mob after an urgent telephon e call from a city resident. Investigations to follow.
Tittinville September 1 Leo and Lester Tubbs aged 14 and 18 narrowly escaped death when a lightning bolt struck the Kollog roof on a house as they prepared to leave. Mr Kollox warned them to fetch rain coats before going out. A bolt tore a six foot hole and a four foot gash in the roof, shingles and plaster torn about the youths with the largest hole near them.

Jamestown reports a head on crash on the Chautauqua traction line near Stow between Vittoria and Stow late yesterday. Three people were injured including Pred D Burgeson of Liberty, the baggage car motorman, Mrs Mosag of Stedmay Road near Chautanalla with a broken nose, and Glenn Newman of the trolley company with a bruise on the left hip. The baggage car No 109 and passenger car No 110 collided with great force about a mile above Stow station around 6 o clock. The baggage car was heading toward Stow and the passenger car toward Westfield. All injuries were not life threatening.

Three Allegheny Construction Co workers were fatally injured when a large boulder dislodged from an embankment near East Brady during tunnel No. 2 work. Foreman Martin Pombal died after a fractured skull and facial injuries. The other two victims were identified only by numbers. all were believed Polish. Pombal’s body was sent to the Osenider morgue pending relatives’ instructions.
