Warren State Hospital escape leads to locked ward hold
Two Warren State Hospital patients Edward Sadley and Thomas Baran, both court-committed, walked away Thursday afternoon and traveled to Pittsburgh by air before being detained upon return. They are now held in a closed Wester Unit ward as officials review their status under the Mental Health Act.

Thinner Humphrey Returns Home After Surgery
In Waverly Minnesota Senator Hubert H. Humphrey and his wife Muriel celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary as he left the University of Minnesota Hospitals. The 66 year old had surgery August 18 for an intestinal blockage and a pelvis tumor. Doctors said the tumor cannot be removed but will be treated next week with cancer therapies and possibly X rays. He appeared thinner paler and weaker as he returned home.
