A 14 year old boy Edward Saey drowned at 3 30 p m Thursday at Four Mile Creek Lake Erie. His body was recovered by Pvt Joseph E Ruffa of the state notice 15 20 p m and Dr By Emer on Lawrence Park. The drowning occurred within 117 feet of the shore. Two others William Jackson 19 and Michael McHugh 38 were involved in a incident on July 28 at Lawrence Park.
Martin McIntyre aged 84 of Bradford was injured when his car veered from the blacktop on a curve near West Spring Creek and struck a bank. He was taken by ambulance to Corry hospital with back and facial injuries. X rays to determine full extent. Details of driving position at the time remain unclear.
A runaway string derailed two cars near the Rail Express Station west of Erie Station. One car derailed fully and the other left the tracks, delaying Express Train No. II until the Meadville wreck crew arrived. The switch engine crew escaped injury.
A 12 year old boy is listed in critical condition after being struck by a horse at the Butler grounds during standard track events. Wayne McDowell of Butler was injured when he was knocked into the path of racing horses and remains under treatment at Butler Hospital.
