Frewsburg Man Seeks Arrest Warrant Then Surrenders

Frewsburg resident Ray Stanton, 45, sought deputy Arthur Payne to arrest him on a petit larceny charge tied to a battery-powered saw used near Chappel Lumber Co. He waited on his Jamestown porch for the officer, admitted the second offense, and was sentenced to six months at Monroe County Penitentiary in Rochester.

Four youths indicted in waitress assault case near Erie

Erie on September 2 four youths were indicted by the Erie County grand jury on aggravated assault and battery and assault with intent to ravish. Named defendants are James Joln Melvin Perry Eugene Luciano and Charles Timmerman. The waitress Miss Sharon Cartwright told police she rode with them after meeting on State Street and was kicked and battered on a side road off Route 5. no actual rape occurred.
