Brockway, Sept 2. Principal Eugene W. Bish of the eleventh Howe pregnancy era is leaving to accept a supervisor post at Vast Brady. Bish will depart immediately and teaching staff will handle office duties until a permanent successor is chosen. Bish came here four years ago, succeeding James Downey who moved to Pinssitawney High School.
Corry autoist faces reckless driving charge after two brothers aged about 12 and 14 stole a bicycle, ransacked two farm homes, and dumped the equipment near Spring Creek. The youths admitted the acts, a camera and flashlights were taken, and the case led to juvenile delinquency proceedings.
Bradford coroner Thomas R. Clark announced that Vincent Ross 21 of Smethport died in a crash deemed an unavoidable accident. The collision occurred when Ross’s car, driven by Lewis Hess 19 of Smethport, was shoved down a crossroad and overturned several times before resting on its wheels. Ross was thrown onto the road about 10 feet from the wreck.
A Labor Day morning crash near Meadville injured Natther Ray Ramey and his wife when their car skidded across a bridge structure, catching fire. Driver said the vehicle veered, burned interior destroyed, both occupants escaped via the front door, car damage over 600 dollars, bridge blocked briefly until removal.
Funeral services for Mrs R M Averill were largely attended at the family home near Grand Valley. Rev E W Mattison officiated and sang with Mrs Mattison. Burial followed in Tidiaute cemetery with pallbearers Ray Houghiling Robert Anderson Howard Bue Marvin Ripley Herbert Persing and J G Walters.
