A Russell area fire left the Lloyd F. Gray home four miles east of Russell burned to the ground Saturday afternoon. Mrs Gray and two sons escaped unharmed and stayed with Donald Cable. Firefighters from Russell and North Warren fought windy freezing conditions to control the blaze, with water from a distant farm pond proving scarce.

Collision Involving Leone Dudley and Klinger Cars Causes Minor Injury
Deputy sheriffs report Leone driving south on Morris Road attempted to pass the Dudley vehicle. Cresting a hill the Leone car met the northbound Klinger auto, causing a crash. The Leone car slid 200 feet along the highway before grazing the Dudley car. Klinger worked as a polisher at Chautauqua Hardware Co in Jamestown.
