School House Windows Smashed In Spite Of Legal Battle
Town Patrolman Elmer Widlund reported windows of the former Ross Mills Schoolhouse near Corry were smashed with rocks between Friday night and Saturday morning. The derelict building, bought by Warren Ross of Falconer for 4900 on October 15, part of a long court fight over a 1953 sale, had about 40 panes broken and large rocks found inside. The case traces to a disputed sale to the Ross family following a two year legal battle involving the Shire Court of Appeals and the local school district.
