NBC to require reporters disclose outside interests
New policy requires NBC news staff to report private financial holdings that could affect judgment. A questionnaire covers outside interests by employees and close relatives. a review committee will decide if disclosure or removal from stories is needed. Chet Huntley urged broader disclosure across Congress and FCC. Symphonic Philadelphia Chamber Symphony also disbands due to lack of patronage.
