U S Pushes Russia For Quick Action On Cuba Bases

A unit of 350 to 400 men from eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas began duty yesterday at 9 am. The 24th audh outfits nationwide join the call to duty amid base preparations and extensive vehicle movement and cable line construction to control areas. Tulsa and Oklahoma City units were released after last year’s Berlin crisis.

Two Dead as Opening Day of Hunting Season Proves Fatal

On opening day of small game season in Erie County seven hunters were wounded or killed. Townley 18 suffered critical back wounds and possible spinal injury after a 10 gauge shotgun blast on his father's property. Donald Porterfield 45 was shot in the face near Nield, died Sunday after surgery. Other victims include two Waterford youths with leg wounds and James Filler 14 hurt by a brother while pheasant hunting. Authorities continue the investigation as residents seek updates.

Hurricane toll in Thailand may reach 1000
