Court Rules On Probe Report In Mayville
The Chautauqua County grand jury recommendation to discharge County Highway Superintendent W. Brice Chilson was quashed by Superior Court Justice George H. Rowe. The court nullified Recommendation No 2 but allowed dismissal from the county highways committee to stand and struck out Recommendation No 9 to publish the minutes. The judge ruled the grand jury acted unlawfully in seeking Chilson’s discharge without due process or pension rights.
