County commissioners anticipate about 600 tax appeals by late next week. On Thursday six appeals from the Sixth Ward were heard, with Millcreek Township owners to be heard on Friday. Monday and Tuesday will be devoted to county appeals.
The 600 Club entertaines Tuesday with Mrs. Robert Tucker as hostess. Officers elected for the year include Mrs. Merrit Hirs on as president, Mrs. W. Brickner as vice president, Mrs. Farold Patchen as secretary, and Mrs. Clair Weidner as treasurer. First prize went to Mrs. Clair Weidner, second to Farold Patchen and a door prize to Mrs. Thomas Varish. A class of nine Rebekah candidates is to be initiated and officers will be installed tonight by District deputy president Mrs. Lydia Peterson and staff from Cambridge Springs. A social hour will follow. The Martha Washington Club and Bridge Club details, plus local notes on residents and church activities, are included.
