County Union Jumps Demand To $3,700 Over Three Years
Erie County labor talks chilled as the county union raised its three year demand to 3700 while the county offered 1200. James Casey asked for a 10 am special meeting to review talks and to consider refusing to negotiate without a mediator. Dolores Bross of AFSCME said no comment until she studies the offer. The union had sought 3000 across three years, 1000 per employee annually, later rising to 1500 first year 1050 second and 1150 third. The county proposal totals about 2000 more per employee over three years with 300 400 and 500 pay increases plus a 10000 life policy. Casey wants to meet with commissioners and the county controller to decide next steps. The contract expires soon.
