Big Dividends Seen For 1950 Returns
The Department of Commerce projects 1950 corporate dividends to exceed last year’s $65 billion record with about 8 percent higher payouts than 1949. Year end dividends, often declared between mid November and December, may be unusually generous due to higher personal income taxes next year. Major firms like General Motors Chrysler and Du Pont have already declared extra dividends as banks and corporations push profits to stockholders.
