Man suffers hand injury from exploded primer in Corry
Robert E. Brown Sr of 404 East Pleasant Street was treated at Corry Memorial Hospital after a cartridge primer exploded in his hand. A 3 year old, Betty Huffman, suffered a chin laceration and Ralph Eastman, 28, was treated for a puncture wound to a finger from a steel punch press. The Rural Electrification Administration approved a $265,000 loan to Warren Electric Co op to extend service to 369 rural customers across Warren, Forest, Venango, and Erie counties. Temperatures in Corry dropped after a milder night, Veterans Day observance urged by Gov. Leader, and a school lunch budget cut reduced meals by one cent per pupil. Newsprint use in September rose sharply, and a large bridge on Route 27 near Titusville was damaged, with a replacement cost estimated at 35000. A&P market signs were removed by Peterson Sim Co. A Jamestown man burned his eyes when a blind man discharged a water pistol at him, and four men from Corry area left for a military school in New Cumberland.
