The Vernon Township Centon Hose Co. truck struck while en route to a Copneautville fire. Chief Eddie Johnson was uninjured. Coroner Dr. F Mackinhoupt called death instantaneous. Lordsburg New Mexico resident Bunvdh Armstrong bound over to district court on second degree murder charge in the August 1 slaying of Ruby Cardeway Armstrong a former Bradford Pennsylvania resident. Bond set at 18000. District Attorney Tom Foy says Armstrong told investigators he beat Cardeway after she attacked him with a butcher knife.
A local draft notice states that men from Corry and surrounding area are to report for pre induction physical examinations on November 17. The group is the largest to be called here in recent months and will depart for New Cumberland for the tests.
