November Milk Price Set For New York Market
The November price of fluid milk in the New York metropolitan area is set at 5.05 per hundredweight for Class 1-A milk, with October at 5.84. Dr. C. J. Blandford notes farmers do not receive the Class 1-A price, paid by the pool, but a uniform price based on all milk received at country plants. The Class 1-A price is determined monthly by a formula reflecting economic conditions, wholesale price indices, supply and demand, and seasonality.
