Quaker State, Union Seal Two Year Labor Pact
Quaker State Oil Corp and a representative of Local 11481 of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union reported a two year labor contract for the Emlenton plant. Workers gained a six cent hourly wage increase and an eighth paid holiday along with improved job classifications. The agreement mirrors a deal at the Farmers Valley plant near Bradford. The Emlenton strike began June 2 and ended September 8 without a contract, as talks continued.
