In Wanda Pennsylvania on October 19 the American Legion pledged support for Arthur HL James give a job campaign. Commander Edward R Stirling said the effort is the antidote to rising calls for broad pension legislation. He addressed 15th district Legionnaires from Bradford Pike Susquehanna Wayne and Wyoming counties stating James can mobilize thousands of uniformed veterans to carry his message to Pennsylvania employers.

Mrs Dora Bell Parker of Evergreen owns what is believed to be Alabama's oldest three dollar bill issued in 1800 by the Central Bank of Montgomery a private banking institution whose records have vanished.
