Plane Crash Kills Pilot Near Huntersville
A light plane crashed in a farming area near Huntersville eight miles northeast of here killing pilot George Meinecke 42 of Lancaster. FAA inspectors said he was in radio contact with Lycoming County Airport shortly before the crash and had been cleared for landing. The aircraft owned by Morris Taylor of Williamsport was flying solo. wreckage spread widely with signs of disintegration. Parts were found on farms of Sam Reeder and Morton Lauchie in Montoursville.

A 15 year old boy saved another teen from drowning after two men fell into the water while horseplay off a Brooklyn pier.
