Teacher Absolved Of Murder By Grand Jury
Anthony Fittipaldi, a Philadelphia teacher, was absolved of murder charges by the Rockingham County Grand Jury. The 7-year-old charge was not indicted in the Aug. 4 shooting death of Garry Norman Shull, 26, of Bridgewater, Va., at a southwestern Rockingham County campsite. Police say Shull drove to the site, harassed Fittipaldi’s family, and fired several shots. Fittipaldi’s gun went off during a scuffle, fatally wounding Shull. An organizer for the defense fund noted any surplus would go to a permanent teachers defense fund or to the victim’s children.
