Paul F. Bauer officiated at a service for Abram G. terday held at Keating Funeral Home with honorary bearers including E. Don MacKenzie Hortan ph Gavis Donald Houser and several others. A Pennsylvania state fish hatcheries delegation attended the service in a body with representatives from Bellefonte Huntsdale Tionesta Linesville Union City and Erie. Race track blaze kills groom and 12 horses at Watertown
Fire swept through Waterford Race Track fatally injuring a groom described as Black and destroying 12 horses. Deputy Sheriff John Bailey reported another man was missing as flames broke out during the seventh race. Spectators were held in place as crews tried to control the blaze and four hours later the body of William Toppacott, 45, was found beside a leveled stable.

Jury Finds Driver At Fault In Traffic Death
A coroner's jury ruled that Joseph Springer, 18, was at fault when his auto crashed through a police roadblock and struck 17 year old Mary Lou Turrell, killing her. The inquest held in Pittsburgh concluded the crash caused the death of the schoolmate.
