Bank announces 4 percent rates for business and savings accounts at The Warren National Bank. The notice targets current depositors and outlines available accounts and terms.
The Erie Home for the Briendeas welcomes aid from across regions to support its large dependent family. Donations of vegetables and fruit are requested and can be sent or arranged for collection before October 19. Corry contributions may go to Mrs C B Raton in North Canter street.
A Brookville hotel burglary ends with a man identified as M. S. Baldwin of Pittsburg using a complete burglar’s kit. Police suspect the visitor, a 28 to 30 year old about 6 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds, is linked to the Miller alias and the failed claim of a death by own action. The case remains under surveillance as investigators pursue the truth.
Prosecution in the case of the Pipie brothers ends with acquittal for the murder of Dave Gustafson. Since the trial the Sheffield area atmosphere has turned against them making work scarce. They find work at a Youngaville brick yard but are quickly forced out when fellow workers discover their identity. The Youngaville Citizen prints an editorial praising the decision not to employ them.
Organized Charities choose Erie as the site for the 1912 state convention. County leaders expect about 260 delegates and many with wives, planning for August or September to avoid bad weather. Local officials push for earlier dates to ease clerical work and accommodate visiting officials from western and eastern counties.
A derailment near Binidewyor on the Lickory Valley line left several cars crushed and nearly demolished. A brakeman was thrown from the tracks but escaped severe injury as others jumped to safety.

Monroe J. Mesenger of Sherman was arraigned in United States Court for sending an $8 post office money order to New York that yielded $800. The court fined him $50, with co counsel urging a suspended sentence citing weak intellect and lack of profit. Local citizens and business leaders petitioned in his favor, noting the case showed cautious handling and a suspended sentence was possible.
The Salvation Army event drew a crowd last evening for the Sacro Jousert of Joe the Park with Captain Smith arranging details. A famous umbrella featured, credited with much utility, ending smoothly as Joe plans his next stop in Mendvilie, Pa.
