6 Clymer 4-H Aides Honored
The 31st annual Chautauqua County 4-H Leaders Recognition Banquet honored 4-H leaders at Cassadaga Valley Central School with a family ham dinner for 175 attendees. Lawrence Anderson presided. Charles Carlson gave the invocation. Peter Stephens welcomed guests. Special clover pins were awarded for 1 to 30 years of service, with area leaders Sandra Ball and others from Clymer receiving certificates.

ERIE UP A walkout at the Marx toy plant enters its 136th day delaying about 2.5 million dollars worth of toys. Supervisors were blocked by pickets as they attempted to load boxcars, about 90 police restored order, no arrests reported. Mayor Louis Tullio said talks between Marx and the IAM resume Tuesday.

Fredonia College girl attacked near campus in late night
Fredonia police investigate an assault on Susan L. Malpa, a Fredonia State University College student, attacked while waiting on Temple Street. The 20 to 30 year old assailant with black curly hair fled after she screamed. The incident followed by a separate Hawaii Kauai county meeting over pay and approvals.
