An anonymous East Main Street resident tipped Patrolman Janes Keppel about a drunken man wandering the city. Keppel identified the suspect as Delbert Ray Querréveld who had escaped from Southern Michigan State Prison in Jackson. He used the alias Howard Ray Skinner of Harborcreek and was taken to police headquarters for identification. Authorities notified Southern Michigan State authorities for disposition of the prisoner.

C H Holden retires after more than 40 years with the Raymond division of Associated Spring. Lester M Danner is promoted to purchasing agent, succeeding Holden. Danner, from Union City, joined Raymonds in 1941 after service at Eastman Mfg Co, with roles in shipping, merchandising, and priorities. Holden, longtime Corry resident, led purchasing since 193? and held directorships in Associated Spring and regional purchasing groups.
DANVILLE Pa an 18 years old Pennsylvania State University student George L Sharp of Drexel Hill is in serious condition at Gelatney Memorial Hospital after a gymnastic trampoline accident. Hospital attendants said the injuries were serious from the neck down and likely occurred when he landed on his head or heel after a flip. Doctor A Hi Ghiews Penn State physician stated the injury was on the upper body and no external objects were involved. The youth was taken to hospital about 70 miles away.
Senator Knowland of California, a Republican leader, after a White House meeting with President Eisenhower, discussed missile programs and foreign policy but said no politics were addressed. He refused to detail topics and indicated he would not relinquish his Senate leadership before the end of his term in January 1959.
