John Tomko, 89, and Robert Milliken, 24, also sustained injuries as police identified the hit and spinout at Route 1. James F. Malone, Diss Atty, charges Alvin Tain, 45, Workhouse guard, with aiding inmate John Nichols, 28, of Erie County, to escape from an area clinic after Nichols gained a key to break restraints. Tain allegedly drove Nichols to Erie and claimed dupe by the prisoner with a promised payment. Nichols had been serving a burglary sentence.
