The Beaverdam Mennonite Church announces the International Gift Festival to be held Wednesday and Thursday, October 22 and 23, at the church. The event, themed Gifts from around the world, will feature items from many countries and vendors within the church hall.
The annual missionary conference will be held at the First Baptist Church in Corry from October 12 to 15, with daily sessions beginning at 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. evening meetings start at 7:45 p.m., plus a midweek all-church and missionary tureen supper and a final symposium led by pastor Rev. George Fiszel.
A bridal shower for Jill DeMarte was hosted by Kathy Berry and her mother at 131 West Smith Street Corry. Fall colors framed decorations and gifts. Kathy Hasbrouck won a special award. DeMarte will wed Rich Bosco of Pittsfield at St Thomas the Apostle Church on Saturday.
Ruth Raymond-Rollin Earls exchanged vows at the First Baptist Church of Corry in a double ring ceremony officiated by Rev. George Fissel. The couple, both of Corry, will reside at R D 2 Corry after a reception for 250 guests hosted by family.
The first regular Mentor Club meeting was held at Miss Lillian Barnes home with Miss Grace Jolley as hostess. Fifteen members attended a tureen dinner as Miss Helen Rowe distributed program booklets and explained monthly activities. Mrs Jolley reviewed passages from The Epic of America by James Truslow Adams. A scrapbook showcased by Miss Naomi Johnson closed the session.
Members and guests of the Corry Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club enjoyed a fall luncheon and seven table Mitchell game at the Corry Motor Inn. Arthur Hansen and Robert Larsen led with 113 percent, followed by top East West totals and several ties. A regular game is planned next Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the YMCA. new officers include Mrs. Lloyd Stowe president and Mrs. F. H. Bartholme secretary.
Rev and Mrs Harry Cleland announce the engagement of their daughter Kathryn Ann Cleland of Centerville to Lee D Weckerly of Seneca Pa The couple plan a May 1976 wedding at Heckathorne United Methodist Church in Franklin with both families noted as part of the engagement.
