The Xi Beta Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi honored 14 new pledges during a breakfast and social at Nichols Lodge Mead Park. President Mrs Richard Gambino introduced the pledges including Mrs Rex Ireland Mrs Albert Mulroy Mrs Robert Lawson and others. Event chairmen were Mrs Thomas Pierotti and Mrs Betty Pratt with 23 attending.

Waterhouse Couple Return From New England Vacation
Mr and Mrs W W Evelyn Waterhouse of Corry and Harrisburg have returned from a week long vacation through New England visiting New Hampshire Massachusetts Maine Vermont and other states. They stayed with their son in Reading Mass and will visit Harrisburg before returning home. A planning session for Corry High School Alumni centennial celebration will be held Thursday at 7 30 pm in the Corry Area High School music room. Frank Grice chairs the event and all interested people are invited to attend. The Rogers Company will stage a production with local talent and director Jack Reed and Rogers Company vice president George Elias will discuss plans for the celebration.

Corry Area Retired School Employes Association held a luncheon at Sweden House Wesleyville where officers were elected for the coming year. Lena Ayers president, Mariana McIntyre vice president, Helen Rowe secretary, Robert Damon treasurer, Ruth Dahlstrand memorial chair. Members discussed a Buffalo Ice Capades bus trip on November 8 priced 17 dollars including transport, ticket and dinner. Next meeting is December 7 at Corry Motor Inn.

Kiwanis Club Plans 50th Anniversary Event
Kiwanis members met at the Corry Motor Inn for a weekly dinner where new president David Schweigert outlined the year’s plans and committee assignments. A special program is slated for the last week of January to mark the 50th anniversary in Corry. Embert Earle will replace E T Bolmer as secretary and treasurer during Bolmer’s absence, and William Helmintoller noted a United Fund representative will discuss this year’s campaign.

The Women's Relief Corps Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic met at Corry Grange Hall for an all day session.
