On Thursday evening at the YMCA officials of the 1960 United Fund appeal will kick off a drive to raise 66000 for 39 charitable agencies in Corry Wayne, Conneaut townships and parts of Warren and Erie counties. The drive led by Olin Brackeney and Frank McKnight aims to reach every home and business. Corporations are asked for 3200 to 2300 and industrial employers for 21000. Local agencies include the YMCA, Salvation Army, Corry Memorial Hospital, Mead Park, Ben Stewart Sewing Society and the Needle Work Guild. A 72 year old blind man, Gesisio Tarquinio, was convicted of attacking his 63 year old wife, Mrs. Josephine Tarquinio, who has polio. He allegedly threatened her with a knife and pushed her down stairs on March 28. Sentencing was deferred for a behavior clinic evaluation.
