An elderly pedestrian Charles Firster, 60, was struck by a car driven by Lloyd C. Lanphere Jr., 24, on Route 6 near Corry Instrument Co. Firster sustained a head laceration and was admitted in satisfactory condition at Corry Memorial Hospital. A truck driver, Albert I. Miller, 28, was arrested for driving while intoxicated but no charges filed against Firster. Lt. Gen. Sir Sidney Clive dies in England after health decline.
