Makeup Of Committee Key What Form Will No-Fault Bill Take
In Harrisburg the Shapp administration seeks a joint conference committee to craft a no fault auto insurance bill likely to pass before election day. A six member panel will be named Tuesday if the Senate rejects 11 House amendments. The makeup of the conference will shape the bill, with positions from Pro Tem Murray, Speaker Fineman, and leaders Fleming and Lee guiding selections. The key House amendment would keep no fault benefits if a court finds a provision unconstitutional, a move administration officials say could raise premiums by 20 to 30 percent.
