Crawford Jail Gets Black Eye
Meadville October Sth Ben Ridder known as a millionaire hobo visits Meadville to stay about ten days. He has traveled many miles and inspects jails in each county. He says Crawford county jail is the worst he has seen among roughly eight thousand four hundred ninety six jails in the U S. Ridder claims his father is Congressman Hortum, leader of a Danish parliamentary paper, and says he supports white slave traffic and child labor causes. He is registered at the Lafayette and plans to give all he earns to an Odd Fellows home. The first American glass factory was erected in Temple township, N H L, in 1780.
