Bad Weather Delays Columbus Subway Construction Project
Weather has slowed work on the Columbus subway under the Erie Railroad, delaying completion into next fall. Milliron Construction reports concrete pouring advancing east from the Columbus station, but extensive underground work and heavy rains threaten finishing the project this season while traffic shifts and one-way conditions persist. The line through Columbus may open before winter, even if the subway is not finished, with traffic rerouted to the old road and Erie pavement to the east.
