An American soldier in Hane leaped from a passenger train between Renovo and Lock Haven after suffering shell shock. He escaped with scratches and bruises as the train sped, while his attendant helped pull him from danger. The man was en route from Philadelphia to Buffalo for treatment.

Roy Wright of Erie Forge & Steel plant background arrested in Pittsburgh on charges of inciting disloyalty to military service. Federal agents had tracked him after spreading propaganda at work. Wright, once a T W W right hand worker, was inducted at Camp Lee after arrest and transfer.

The Board of Tax Revision and Appeal for the City of Corry Pa. will hold meetings in the Council Chambers Corry from 9 to 12 a.m 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m on specified October 1918 days to hear complaints from residents aggrieved by the assessment. Schedule lists First Ward Oct 9 Second Ward Oct 9 Third Ward Oct 10 Fourth Ward Oct 12. The board actions may proceed to the Court of Common Pleas.
