New York October 2 reports another shipment of gold from England to the United States. Goldman Sachs and Company bankers are reported to be involved in the 52,300,000 transfer. The previous London shipment arrived a little more than a week ago, according to Wall Street London reports.
In the H L Flick case at Citizens Bank Pleas antville the bond was raised from 10 000 to 26 000 after new charges. co defendant Sylvester Watson owner of an Oil City pool hall admits rifling the bank and both were moved to Venango County jail at Franklin.
Franklin D Roosevelt, long a close ally of Alfred E. Smith, consents to accept the Democratic nomination for New York governor. The convention, meeting in Rochester, is expected to endorse the pick and slate key statewide offices including lieutenant governor, attorney general, and United States senator. The platform pledges law and order, emphasizes constitutional fidelity, and condemns Prohibition excess, while calling for gradual amendment to the Volstead act and a state judged determination of alcohol policy.
