November 28 1929 reports heavy snowfall six to ten inches blanketing the area. Hazardous driving conditions followed as the 43rd annual Stanford Hose Company ball at the State Armory entertained with music by Erie’s Varsity Ten. In Kent County court Mrs. Inex Brennan a 45 year old widow and her 16 year old son Robert were sentenced for the shotgun slaying of Wade N Wooldridge 67 of Stone Mountain Georgia. Chief Justice Charles R Richards said the boy's age and mercy were considered though he would have imposed death on the mother if law allowed. The sentences will be appealed to the Delaware State Supreme Court per defense counsel Benjamin R Donohoe who claims statements signed by the son were obtained under duress and should not have been admitted.
