Jamestown area report says Fred Ruis sell 79 a Sherman farmer truckman died after a head on collision on the Sherman Summerdale road at about 10 45 am. Robert Reed of Sherman was treated for injuries and Russell a passenger died en route to Jamestown General Hospital. Deputy Pratt and others responded to the scene in poor visibility.

Mrs. Jennie E. McMullen 83, longtime Oil City resident and widow of James B. McMullen, died at home at 22 m today. Born December 21 1863 in Corry to David and Estella Bartholomew, she lived here since childhood. Her husband perished in a railroad accident November 5, 1925. Two Men Sentenced in Erie County Court
Erie county court handed sentences to four defendants with one deferred and one suspended. August Michels received 1.5 to 3 years in state prison for indecent assault involving two teenage girls. Theodore Magee of Erle was sent to the Allegheny County Workhouse for public indecency for one year. C. A. Peifer of Johnstown got six months in prison and a $100 fine with sentence suspended, ordered to pay costs and restitution to a boardinghouse keeper. Jack Jeffries’ case was deferred for aggravated assault and battery.

Second hunting victim improves in Jamestown hospital
Jamestown reports Herbert C. Gunnell, 26, of Falconer, in good condition and testing well after a shoulder wound from a deer slug fired by Alfred Dahl near Fred Quaint farm. Police say Gunnell was among three hunters when the shot struck his right shoulder. Separately, Herbert Covert, 29, of East Randolph, shot in the hip, remains critical but is gaining ground at W. G. A. Hospital after three transfusions.
