Corry Mother in Iron Lung Finds Life Worth Thanksgiving

ERIE Nov. 1 There is one thing about being in an iron lung in the United States says Mrs. Glenn Wood of Corry who has been in art since October 14, 1939 and not able to lift a finger. A 30 year old mother of three she says when a plane flies overhead there is no need to get up and run. She has endured infantile paralysis and a long stay in the iron lung to learn how many kind people live in the world and what a grand place At 1. She is thankful for life and her family and spent Thanksgiving cheerfully as her husband a salesman for the Atlantic Refining Co is recovering from a mild case of pneumonia. Her readings are aided by a forthcoming device to hold reading matter at the right distance from her eyes in her Corry home. She enjoyed the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with the trimmings and Christmas will be another big event in Mrs Wood s room at the hospital with nearly 50 presents already for the children and a strong Christmas spirit despite her condition.
