Death claims sister of Corry resident

Mrs. Charen uyach of West Main Street received word of the death of her sister Mrs. D. J. Linehan which occurred at Niagara Falls Ontario Canada on Monday. Mrs Linehan is survived by her husband and five children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at Niagara Falls Ontario.

Jersey Murder Case Advances Swiftly in New Jersey Trial

In Mays Landing New Jersey on November 20 the second day of the murder trial of Mrs Margaret Lilliendahl and Willis Beach began. Witnesses testified about clothing worn by Mrs Lilliendahl at the time of her husband Dr William Lilliendahl's murder on September 1. Mrs Lilliendahl claims two Black men killed and robbed her husband. state police matron Mrs Carr testified no signs of beating but bruises on Mrs Lilliendahl. State trooper Orsechowski recalled finding Dr Lilliendahl’s body with no signs of bruises on his hands. A state trooper named Howe testified arriving at the scene near Hammon o al after the Great Swamp bridge incident, recounting the car being stopped by two men who forced her down a road where shooting occurred. Mrs Lilliendahl said one shot fired, but three shots were later found.

Windstorm damages city including hotel roof on South Center

High winds and heavy rain last night caused damage across the city and vicinity. A portion of the roof at the former St. James hotel on South Center street was torn away, with lesser damage elsewhere. Rain and floods receded creeks and streams after the downpour, marking November 29th as a notably wet day.

Mother and two children killed in railroad crash

In Glassboro New Jersey on November 2 Mrs. Robert Brew aged 36 and her children Robert Jr and Mandy were killed when their car was struck by a West Jersey and Seashore Railroad passenger train at Leonard's Crossing. The engineer saw the car on the tracks too late to avoid the crash.

Colorado Strike Nears Close As Settlement Possible

Denver November 30 The Colorado coal strike appears closer to a settlement than at any time since seven weeks of stoppage. Elgin Merchant Dies of Pneumonia at Corry Hospital

George McCray a well known Elgin merchant died this morning at Corry Hospital after a few days illness from pneumonia. He conducted a grocery store in Elgin for years. Survived by his wife two sisters Mrs Re Lewis and Mr Viola Mixer of Elgin and a brother in Bear Lake. Funeral announcements will be made later.
