Kaneites Narrow Escape From Gas Fumes
In Kant on November 25 an unspecified number of families faced danger when a suction pump at McKinley Station misrouted Metude Gas into consumer lines. Gas alarms woke residents before 1 2 a m as neighbors and the gas company responded. The error, caused by a misconnected suction pump, was fixed with no injuries reported. McDade Manufacturers Gas Co accepted responsibility for the mishap.

Three escape injuries after Dunkirk crash
At Lambert Avenue in Dunkirk a car overturned after a collision on Main Road. William Moorman, 43, and his two daughters Mary and Florence from 7 Allenhurst Road Buffalo suffered severe cuts and bruises. all were taken to Memorial Hospital. The party was en route to Bethany College to bring Mr Moorman home to Buffalo when the accident occurred.

County tax collectors to settle with Erie County
Erie November 28 county officials announced that borough and township tax collectors along with the city of Cory will complete their settlements with the county during December. Ralph Benedict, chief clerk to the county commissioners, said notices would be sent out. Revenue will be turned over to the county treasurer for general expenses for the rest of the year and early next year. Parker, city collector, will settle after the new year. Forced collection of city taxes set to begin early next week.

Former Meadville Woman Dies in Crash
Al phia Papenhagen a 68 year old Dallas Texas resident formerly of Meadville was killed when the automobile she drove crashed on a highway near Roswell New Mexico. The Dallas school teacher who had lived in Santa Fe McMwea for the past 25 years was en route to a reunion when an application of brakes on a unfamiliar road section caused the wreck according to dispatches from Hussgill.

Huge still seized in Clarion County
Oil City reports two illicit stills seized in Paint Township Clarion County by county and state officers. One still valued at 225 gallons was the largest yet taken in the county. A second 24 gallon still and about 15 gallons of alleged liquor were also confiscated. Joe Baka to be arraigned before a Clarion justice today.
