Troop and Freight Train Collide In Georgia

A troop train collided with a freight train near Savannah Georgia injuring three soldiers and minor injuries to several others. The crash occurred when the freight brake failed and troops attempted to stop the train at Camp Racke. Oil fires damaged both trains and the depot as crews worked to account for everyone.

Penn a Gasco ties in southwest gas after snow storm

Ten million cubic feet of gas daily are pouring into the Pennsylvania Gas Company lines from the Tennessee Gas Transmission line. President W H Locke says the tie-in was completed at 2 PM Saturday in a snow storm. The extra gas should prevent shortages and industrial curtailments, though storage gas was tapped to complete the connection. No new customers are being added despite the influx.

Route 8 To Erie Reopens To Traffic After Works

The Route 8 to Erie reopened to traffic today after completion of roadwork between Wattsburg and Erie. State Police said the rad was closed all summer and a major rebuilding between Lowville and Hammell was part of spring plans. Motorists were urged to use caution as berms remain soft and final work is pending.
